Donal Minehan joined MCW Lawyers in 1976 and became a principal in 1985. He has a degree in law from Sydney University and was admitted to practice as a solicitor in 1976.
 
Donal has many years of general legal experience with a strong focus in the litigation area. He has been involved in family law for thirty plus years and in 1992 became a Family Law Accredited Specialist.

As the supervising principal of our Family Law area, Donal regularly appears in the Family Court, and in the Supreme and District Court for de-facto relationship matters. He can advise in all areas of family law, including property disputes and is a qualified mediator.  He also practises Collaborative Law and is a member of the Southern Sydney Collaborative Law Group.
 
Donal is experienced at handling complex financial disputes and works with accountants, valuers and other professionals in order to reach beneficially structured financial arrangements for his clients.
 
"Our main focus is to help minimise, where we can, the trauma of the separation process", says Donal.  "We discuss with out clients a number of early options in order to avoid lengthy and sometimes costly Court cases.  Whether it's mediation or some other form of resolution, there are alternatives."
 
Donal runs regular seminars for people needing divorce and family law information, with Kylie Holmes, also a Family Law Accredited Specialist and principal of the firm.
