State Environment Planning Policy (Exempt & Complying Development codes (2008) ("Codes SEPP")
On 27 February 2008 the SEPP commences. The SEPP deals exclusively with exempt and complying development.
Approximately 41 types of development fall within the SEPP. The SEPP only relates to the development in residential zones. The purpose and function of the SEPP is to speed up the development process for exempt and complying development.
The SEPP does not make any allowance for neighbours to be notified of any such development until after the applicant has received a Complying Development Certificate (“CDC”). For complying development neighbours will be notified of the development 2 days after a CDC has been issued. No CDC’s are necessary for exempt development.
We expect to conduct a seminar for all interested person to thoroughly explain the new Codes SEPP. Once a date has been fixed for the seminar an announcement will be made on the website.
